About Us.
Your Hosts Kelly and Chistian Subritzky.
We have been living in the Pakihi Valley for over 20 years and have extensive knowledge of the surrounding bush and forests. We built our main home here and have now added an accommodation block to enable anyone to come and experience the stunning beauty of the Urutawa Forest and Pakihi, Valley Beyond.
With a custom-built Wood Fired Pizza Oven we also can provide pizzas, freshly caught crayfish, or cook up your favourite meats traditional-style.
We recently expanded our accomodation options to offer you the original A-frame hut infamous Kiwi Barry Crump built and lived in for many years up here. Now relocated to the top of the valley and completely restored, 2 people can experience the authentic valley life and spectacular views of the Pakihi.
We look forward to hosting you soon at Weka Wilds Accommodation.

Privacy and comfort
Weka Wilds accommodation offers you warm and comfortable self-contained accommodation for up to 5 people, nestled at the end of the stunning Pakihi Valley at the foothills of the Urutawa Forest, Opotiki.
Privacy guaranteed, experience all the Pakihi has to offer. From the recently built Motu Trails cycleway to deer or pig hunting through pristine forests; trek through stunning bush to trout fishing in three rivers; ocean fishing charters to sunset sand dune fly casting, the Pakihi Valley and surrounding Opotiki area has so much to offer visitors and locals alike.
Crumpy’s Hut – Sleeps 4 People.
A uniquely authentic experience
In November 2013 Weka Wilds aquired infamous New Zealander and author Barry Crump’s old A-frame hut, which had no permanent residents since Barry and Robin had lived in it. Barry and Robin built the A-Frame in 1982-1983 and Barry left in (1991).
We moved it up to Weka Wilds with two diggers and a bulldozer, taking eight hours for the 2km journey. Michael Holland from TVNZ from Seven Sharp came and did a story on the A-frame and after many months of hard work and guidance from Robin, we have restored it to it’s original glory.
Since 2014 we have had visitors stay here at Weka Wilds from all over the globe. We look forward to hosting you too!
